My childhood fears...

I'm first generation Sesame Street born two years before its debut in 1969. I've seen current Big Bird (no I don't watch present day Sesame Street)...and he's nice, sweet, not evil.

Did I say "evil"?

Sorry Jim Henson (RIP) but the first few Big Birds from my youth were scary and evil as hell.

What the fekk? I couldn't even look at this thing as a 4 year old. Gave me serious creeps until BB changed in the 1970s, thank God.

Don't believe early Big Bird was evil?

"Daddy!!!!" Screamed a frightened preschooler on East 175th Street in the Bronx. Jim, we love you but BIG BIRD WAS EVIL!

Thank God BB mellowed out for future generations...sans the evilness...

But the nightmares I had as a kid... those are moments in time never to be salvaged again. Now, as far as Snuffy in his first days...

You're kidding me right? Devil incarnate!! What were the producers THINKING???

Long live Sesame Street, even if we old timers are scarred for life... but we learned how to read before kindergarten.

Three years? Really?

I can't believe how quickly time flies! I haven't touched this blog since 2009! Wow! Since then, I moved, Maggie passed away, I adopted 4 new kitties, have a day job, working on my independent business, so on and so forth.

Plus, my 89 year old granny Elizabeth suffers from dementia and has been quite forgetful -- to the point it's impacted her mental health obviously.

And in the midst of all this, New York City has seen 2 hurricanes and all sorts of weird weather since 2011.

Can it get more bizarre?

Stay tuned and see...
